Battery instructions

Instructions for battery disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.
You can return used batteries that we currently or previously offered as new batteries to us either at your own expense or free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you can dispose of the batteries at local collection points.
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
Used batteries can contain pollutants that can harm the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, and nickel, and can be recycled.
The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
The crossed-out trash can symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste.
For batteries containing a certain mass of lead, cadmium or mercury, the following additions under the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicate the respective pollutants:
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass
Information on the costs included in accordance with Article 56 Paragraph 4 of the EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) can be found at the “ Battery Back ” initiative.
Special features when selling starter batteries

In connection with the sale of starter batteries, we are obligated under Section 19 of the German Battery Act (BattDG) to collect a deposit of €7.50 including VAT for each starter battery if you, as the end consumer, do not return a used starter battery at the time of purchase. This deposit is not included in the purchase price and will be shown separately next to the final price on the product page.

If you return a used starter battery to us that we currently stock or have previously stocked as a new battery in accordance with Section 18 of the German Battery Act (BattDG), we are legally obligated to take it back free of charge and refund the deposit.

Insofar as we have issued a deposit token in accordance with Section 19 Paragraph 1 Sentence 3 BattDG, the refund of the deposit upon return of the used starter battery is dependent on the return of the deposit token.

The return address is the address listed in the legal notice.

Returning a used starter battery by mail is not permitted due to the dangerous goods regulations.

Alternatively, used starter batteries can be returned free of charge to recycling centers and waste disposal sites. The deposit we collect is not refunded by these public recycling centers and waste disposal sites. However, they can provide you with a receipt for the returned starter battery on the deposit slip. Upon presentation of this receipt, you will receive your battery deposit back from us. If no deposit slip was issued, proof of return from the authorized collection point is sufficient. In this case, the proof must not be older than two weeks at the time of presentation.
